About
Hi! I’m Halle (Ha-lee, she/her). I’m so glad you’re here! Searching for and finding support can be some of the most difficult steps to take.
Born and raised in the lower mainland, I feel incredibly privileged to be able to work on these lands and support those who inhabit them. Outside of work, I am either engrossed in a book, surrounding myself with nature, seeking out animals, or spending time with my support system. I hold a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Clinical Social Work (RSW: #16959) from UBCO.
I have worked at BC Children’s Hospital for the last several years and have had the opportunity to support families from across the province in acute mental health crises, as well as youth seeking comprehensive eating disorder treatment. I have had the pleasure of being a facilitator of the first ever SPACE (Supportive Parenting of Anxious Childhood Emotions) ARFID (avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder) pilot group launched out of BCCH’s eating disorders program. Before my time in healthcare, I spent many years working with youth on the autism spectrum in an educational setting to develop functional life skills, social skills, and increase wellbeing. I have a huge passion for supporting youth, caregivers, families and couples.
As a social worker, I view people through a holistic lens, acknowledging all of the systems that shape and influence human behaviour. With your expertise and insight into your life, I hope to collaboratively tackle maladaptive behaviours, patterns, and thought processes that are keeping you stuck.
Areas I support:
Neurodiversity
Eating disorders
Boundaries
Attachment
Mood disorders
Self-harm & suicidality
Chronic pain / endometriosis
Parenting support for anxiety, OCD, and ARFID
I see clients aged 13+, adults, couples, and provide parenting support. I am available on Mondays and Tuesdays virtually or in-person.
My therapeutic approach:
At baseline, I practice using a human-centered, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lens. I also like to utilize humour and promote laughter (AKA the best medicine) when appropriate.
I have training in the following modalities and often blend pieces of them to fit your needs:
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Supportive Parenting of Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) + SPACE ARFID
